By Prince Muta- Controversial Dancehall superstar, Adidja "Vybz Kartel" Palmer has formally been slapped with a murder charge following a meeting between law enforcement officials and Kartel's lawyers . Investigators from the Major Investigation Taskforce (MIT) charged the self-professed "Worl' Boss" on Monday evening on three different offences. The offences include murder, illegal possession of a firearm and conspiracy to murder. According to reports, the charges stem from an alleged incident on July 11, 2011 when Palmer, along with a group of men, plotted to murder a St. Catherine based businessman/promoter. 27 year old, Barrington Burton aka "Bossie" was shot and killed while standing with friends alongside Walkers Avenue in Gregory Park. Kartel, along with a woman and two other men, was initially arrested and charged with ganja possession at a New Kingston hotel on Thursday night. On Friday, he was taken by police across several residences and premises allegedly owned by "Di Teacha." Reportedly, a badly burnt body was found in one of the premises in Havendale, St. Andrew weeks previously. Kartel was then held in a Kingston jail over the weekend and set to undergo a series of interrogations this week. A preliminary hearing for Kartel's case will be held at tomorrow at the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrate's Court.
